PLAY+ from Reggio Emilia

Light tables and lightboxes to explore materials and create new ways to look at the world are synonymous with the experience of the infant-toddler centres and preschools at Reggio Emilia. Launched at Childcare Expo London this year, we have our newest light table. Mobile, flat, studio quality LED light panel set inside a table top, with steel frame and adjustable height feet. The perspex cover allows things to also be put inside the panel itself. The table operates with a long life, low voltage rechargeable battery, making it completely mobile around the classroom and removing the hazard of electric cables.

Developed exclusively with Reggio Children and the world-renowned schools for young children at Reggio Emilia, our products make beautiful, creative and inclusive learning spaces, informed by the principle that the environment is the ‘Third Teacher’.

At Childcare Expo London, we’ll be showing a selection of examples from our PLAY+SOFT and PLAY+SOLID ranges of furniture for children, together with slides from our school and nursery design projects.

As well as robust and innovative furniture, atelier and roleplay equipment, Feelgood Designs also offer interior design services with the team behind the ‘Children, Spaces, Relations’ research on environments for children (Reggio Children, Domus Academy, 1998), with projects including crèches (Benetton, Virgin), airport and shopping mall play areas (Westfield London, BAA), and schools and nurseries around the world.

The wipe clean ECOSOFTX fabric is unique to our SOFT range, containing no PVC and no latex, with class leading fire and abrasion rating, impermeable and odourless. Featured at sustainability events with London Design Festival, and design events with the V&A Museum of Childhood and the Triennale di Milano.

Our SOLID range is characterised by natural materials (e.g. FSC birch and beech hardwoods) with water pigment paint wipe clean finishes, or natural wood finish, steel, high-pressure laminates and lacquered mdf.
