Studies have shown that kindness has a number of physical and emotional benefits for both children and adults that help us all to become happier, well rounded people. Such are the pressures on educators today, that a small dose of kindness goes a long long way. With this in mind, leading educational resource provider Twinkl are launching The Great Twinkl Kindness Week to take place between the 6th and 10th February 2017.
Twinkl have designed a whole host of materials for all age groups to help educators and children carry out kind acts in an effort to make their settings happier places for all. Children will be able to earn certificates and tick off kind acts from carefully designed checklists, and adults will also be inspired with ideas for kind acts towards colleagues and friends.
Twinkl’s Chief Customer Understanding Officer Heather McAvan said: “2016 seems to have been a very challenging year for everyone, and schools and nurseries are no exception. We do all we can to help educators, but we’re always looking for more ways to make people’s lives easier and improve educational outcomes for children. We intend for The Great Twinkl Kindness Week to be a time for everyone to get involved in kind acts as a way to help make the world a better place, and to teach children and adults the value of human kindness”.
Free teaching materials to support The Great Twinkl Kindness Week are available here for Early Years.
Settings and schools that take part are encouraged to share their stories via the Twinkl Facebook Page. Following the week, Twinkl will also be launching their Twinkl Well-Being Awards aimed at encouraging senior leadership teams to ensure that their settings are positive places for staff to work in.
