Childcare Expo was welcomed with open furry arms last week at EventCity. We have to say what a show it was. The visitors came in their thousands as 90s children’s TV legend Dave Benson Phillips cut the ribbon.

There were some very special guests at EventCity such as award-winning author Alistair Bryce-Clegg, who shared his experience in early years with visitors and answered many questions from his fans. After the question and answer session, there was a special book signing with Alistair Bryce-Clegg.

The event was also attended by Tim Perkins, a former Marvel Comics and DC artist. He spent two days unveiling his latest creations and inspired the audience of all ages to draw until their heart was content.

Through his Makaton workshops, Dave Benson Phillips got everyone singing nursery rhymes, clapping, shouting and clapping. The noise was so loud that it could be heard across the show. TTS returned to the event with an incredible learning location that had children and adults playing in the sandpit to find hidden treasures.

EventCity also held several educational seminars over the course of two days. Di Chilvers’ seminar on mapping progress through EYFS was a sell-out. Ever-popular Gail Ryder Richardson returned for the second year running to deliberate ways to improve outdoor provisions.

Plan and preparations for Childcare Expo Midlands are already underway with the event being held at the Ricoh Arena from the 30th September to 1st October. Hundreds of people have already registered their interest. We have an impressive line-up at this year’s event from industry leaders who are providing seminars on ways to support development of early language and communication to Forest Schools in urban settings.

If you want to learn ways of increasing child interaction with stories or boost development via outdoors, the workshops at Childcare Expo Midlands are not to be missed.

We have hosted events since 2010 and they have grown from strength-to-strength. It is this support that has enabled Childcare Expo Manchester to become a reality.
